Stuart Baxter’s son, Lee Baxter, has arrived in South Africa and begun working at SuperSport United after taking on the role of goalkeeper coach at the club.
The Siya crew reported shortly after Baxter Snr’s confirmation as head coach of the club that former Kaizer Chiefs sports scientist, Josh Smith, and his son, Lee, would join him.
While there was a delay in organising the relevant paperwork for him to start work, the crew has since been informed that it has now been finalised and that he started work with the side ahead of this weekend’s 2-0 win over University of Pretoria.
Baxter was in the squad and also worked as goalkeeper coach at AIK in Sweden for several years; however also spent time in Turkey with Genclerbirligi during his father’s short stint there last year.
The goalkeeper coach, who is in possession of a goalkeeper coaching licence as well as a licence for personal training and massage certificate, will be hoping to help Ronwen Williams improve on his hot and cold form this season so far.
