Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Lands New TV Show — And Something About It Seems Furiously Familiar…

Know what The Fast And The Furious franchise doesn’t have? A TV show!!

Looks like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is the beneficiary of yet another gig because he just landed a script deal with FOX for a new series called Boost Unit!

The hour-long action series will apparently follow Dwayne as a new recruit to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Auto Theft Task Force — but he has a hidden past as a notorious getaway driver!
The wrestler-turned-actor released a statement about the new show on Tuesday, saying:

“We’re bringing to life the high stakes street pursuits and grueling work of this very specialized elite task force and we’re excited to partner with Imperative Entertainment to combine an epic mix of gripping action and sophisticated storytelling.”

While it’s not officially part of the Fast & Furious films in any form, The Rock is getting an executive producer nod on this project, so we’re sure we’ll see some similarities.

No word on when it’ll air yet, though, since it’s still in such an early stage of development… but if it’s like everything else he touches, chances are it will soon turn to gold!
