Even though Samsung’s Galaxy S7 Edge is officially hitting stores on March 11, some customers who have pre-ordered the device are reporting their phone is on its way, or it already arrived.
One Reddit user from Finland says he had received his S7 Edge on Saturday, claiming he received it through the regular channels, after renewing his mobile contract and pre-ordering the phone as part of the same deal.
Even better, he already posted several videos of the device on YouTube, including an unboxing video and a comparison between the fingerprint scanner on the S7 Edge and the S6 Edge.
The unboxing has no big surprises, though it’s cool to see Samsung has included a USB Type-C-to-USB-A adapter in the box.
Another video shows that the speed of the fingerprint scanner on the new phone is slightly improved over the one on the S6 Edge.
The same user also tested out the S7 Edge camera’s slow motion capabilities.
While it’s no surprise that the new phone has already appeared on video — there was an even more comprehensive unboxing video last week — the fact that it’s arriving in the hands of the customers this soon after launch is a nice touch by Samsung.
