Mfaba and Nomganga met in high school back in 2001, where they first connected on a musical level. Radio was quite big at the time and they would always share what they’d listened to on the radio and swap cassette tapes.
At the time, they never imagined that in a few years they would become the best of friends and business partners.
Having started out as deep house music DJs, they have expanded their genre and have fashioned their sound to cater to all sub-genres of house music. Their show on Kaya FM, The Rhythm Sessions, specifically caters to an audience that lives and breathes house music. They’ve gained a huge following through their deejaying and host an event called The Rhythm Sessions Musical Experience every second Friday of the month at Capitol Underground in Rosebank, Johannesburg.
Here they are talking about house music, the music industry, and the politics of being in business with a friend.
