Cape Town – The three-year-old DJ Arch Jnr made history for being the youngest contestant ever to win SA’s Got Talent.
But his victory lap was cut short after a Twitter storm erupted on Tuesday over unplugged cables.
The young DJ’s skills have been brought into question after pictures surfaced that showed his AC cables were not connected to the DJ mixer.
The toddler’s team has since hit back in a statement released on Instagram.
They wrote; “Morning Family :). I was suppose to drop you a cool mix this morning but I think we must take this opportunity to educate our friends :). So I am sure you have came across picture saying “no audio out cables, so the mix was fake” :), was my mix that good that people thought it was fake?
“Normally when you use a computer and a controller you have 2 options when it comes to audio out, it is either you go with the computers audio out or the controllers audio out. Usually I use the controllers audio out but it gave us a buzzing sound so we had to go with the computers audio out, makes no difference really. So if you come across such posts you can just simply reply with the pictures below :). #TeamDjArchJnr #Each1Teach1”
SA’s Got Talent has issued this official comment:
“The photo that has been making the rounds on social media does not show the full technical setup of DJ Arch’s performance which took place at Soweto Theatre on the 8th of November 2015 in the finale of SA’s Got Talent. The audio cables were connected via the laptop and not the controller.
“There were two laptops on the stage which DJ Arch Jnr. was consistently watching. The one laptop has the DJ software on it, which plays the songs and the other laptop has a countdown system which cues DJ Arch Jnr. The controller in front of him has a black USB cable connected to the laptop which is feeding into it.”
